What this site is
Most travel guides tell you a place is "charming" and the best time to go is "spring or autumn". We try to answer the same questions with numbers you can check: how warm and wet each month is, how busy the city gets, and what things cost.
We started with 10 cities in Portugal, outside Lisbon. Each city has a page built from open data. Guides on where to stay and what to do follow one city at a time, as we find sources for them.
Who makes it
Philipp Schlüter runs this site and signs every page. A page without a reviewed byline is marked as a draft and kept out of search engines.
How it makes money
Some pages link to booking sites. If you book through one of those links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Every such link is labelled "(affiliate link)", and the note sits above the first one on the page.
The "eSIM" item in the menu carries a "Sponsored" label because that page will hold affiliate links. No brand pays for a place on a page, and a commission does not change what we recommend. When we have not tested something, we say so.
How we use AI
Research and first drafts are AI-assisted. Every figure comes from open data listed on the page with its source and date, and a person reviews each page before it goes live.
Our rules for every page:
- Every number on a page must be in a data file with its source. A script checks this before a page can go live.
- No "we stayed" or "we tried" unless there is a dated proof of the visit.
- No copying. A script rejects any run of more than 12 words taken from a source.
- Reddit and YouTube give us questions to answer, never facts to print.
The scoring rules and price methods are on the method page. Every source is on the sources page.
