Short answer: pick the trip by what you want to see. Cinque Terre is the sea day, the three-town tours cover Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa, and Chianti is a half day of wine. On 2026-10-21 the eight tours we compared on Klook and KKday cost EUR 34.40 to EUR 109 per adult. Those are each page’s “from” prices, so the two cheapest, EUR 34.40 and EUR 41.65, may leave out a guide or train tickets.

A dated screenshot of each page is on file. What you pay depends on the option and the date you choose.

Can you reach these places by train instead?

Yes for Pisa, Lucca, Siena and La Spezia. On Trenitalia’s own journey search, read 2026-10-22 for Tuesday 2026-11-03, the fastest of the first ten trains after 06:00 from Florence Santa Maria Novella took 51 minutes to Pisa, 1 hour 20 minutes to Lucca and 1 hour 28 minutes to Siena, each without a change. La Spezia, the rail gateway to Cinque Terre, took 2 hours 3 minutes with one change.

Train times and fares we read

Place Fastest of first ten trains Changes Lowest fare read, EUR Tour on this page
Pisa Centrale 51 min none 9.80 three tours, from EUR 34.40
Lucca 1 h 20 min none 8.90 no tour compared
Siena 1 h 28 min none 10.80 three tours, from EUR 34.40
La Spezia Centrale 2 h 3 min one 14.60 Cinque Terre tours, from EUR 41.65
Bologna Centrale 33 min none 9.90 no tour compared

We checked the first ten journeys after 06:00 for one adult. The fastest train and the lowest fare are not always the same train: to Bologna the 33-minute Frecciarossa cost EUR 22.90, and the EUR 9.90 fare was an Intercity of 1 hour 17 minutes.

A train ticket covers one town, while the tours visit two or three in a day with the coach between them included. From La Spezia the Cinque Terre villages are a further local train, which we did not read.

San Gimignano, Chianti and Val d’Orcia have no row: we read no train for them. For Pisa or Siena alone, the lowest fares were EUR 9.80 and EUR 10.80 one way, against EUR 34.40 for the cheapest three-town tour.

Is Cinque Terre in one day from Florence worth it?

The KKday Pisa and Cinque Terre page puts the coast 2 hours 30 minutes from Florence. All three tours run 12 to 13 hours. The Klook Cinque Terre tour leaves at 07:00 and is back at 18:30, with 5 hours 15 minutes of listed stops in three villages. Go if the sea matters more to you than Tuscany.

The Klook Cinque Terre tour lists three villages, each labelled self-guided in the itinerary:

  • Manarola, 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Vernazza, 1 hour 45 minutes
  • Monterosso al Mare, 2 hours

The Klook tour also lists Pisa and guided options, and we read no price for each. The KKday Pisa and Cinque Terre tour runs 13 hours. It lists two options, a self-guided rail package and a guided small-group day trip. Its page says the tour runs by minivan and train.

Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa: which of three tours?

Three tours cover the classic Tuscany loop, from EUR 34.40 to EUR 79. The Klook and KKday three-town tours both list Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa in about 12 hours. The Klook tour with lunch drops Pisa, adds Monteriggioni and names lunch in every option, in 11 hours. Want Pisa: take a three-town tour. Want Monteriggioni and no Pisa: take the tour with lunch.

What each of the three tours lists

Stop listed Klook 101734 KKday 1149 Klook 126633
Siena yes yes, guide in two options 3 hours
San Gimignano yes yes 2 hours
Pisa yes yes no
Monteriggioni no no 40 minutes
Lunch named in the guided option listed, with a Chianti tasting in every option

The Klook three-town tour lists two options: explore on your own, or explore Siena with a guide and lunch. The KKday one lists a day tour, the same with a guided tour of Siena, and a third that adds entry to Siena Cathedral. The Klook tour with lunch names a 3-course lunch at a Chianti winery with 3 wine tastings in every option. Both three-town tours also list a lunch with wine, in some options.

One date matters for the Klook tour with lunch. From November to March the itinerary leaves out Monteriggioni, and the return to Florence is about 30 minutes earlier.

Chianti or Val d’Orcia: which wine day?

Chianti is the short, cheap one: EUR 50.60 for 5 hours with two wineries. Val d’Orcia is the wider one: EUR 84.65 for Montalcino, Pienza and Montepulciano, with a Brunello cellar and a Vino Nobile winery. It runs 11 hours 30 minutes, per its Klook page.

The Chianti page offers two departure choices:

  • Morning: leaves at 08:30, back at 13:30
  • Afternoon: leaves at 14:30, back at 19:30

It lists two wine estates and a tasting of up to 3 or 4 wines at each, plus olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The Val d’Orcia tour leaves at 07:20. It lists an English-speaking guide, a cheese tasting in Pienza and groups of up to 20.

What does the price leave out, and what limits apply?

Question Answer from the pages
What is left out? Tips and personal costs, on the Klook pages that list them. The Cinque Terre transport-only option leaves out train and boat tickets.
Can you cancel? Free cancellation runs until 24 hours before on three Klook pages and 48 hours before on Val d’Orcia. The three KKday pages say 2 days before.
Do you need ID? The Klook Cinque Terre and San Gimignano and Siena pages ask you to bring your original ID.
Does the tour run? The Klook tour with lunch has a minimum group of 2, and a group under 9 goes by minivan without an escort. The Val d’Orcia tour can be cancelled in extreme weather, with a reschedule or full refund.
What about children? Klook lists children aged 0 to 3 as free and age 13 and over at the adult rate on the pages that name it.
How hard is the day? The Klook Cinque Terre tour warns of a lot of walking and stairs. The KKday Pisa and Cinque Terre tour says it is not suited to people with walking disabilities.

What this page could not check

Train times and fares come from one search for one Tuesday, so other days and later trains can differ. Whether the train beats a tour depends on how many towns you want in one day. The fare covers one town, with no guide or lunch.

We read the “from” price of each page but not the price of each option, so a guide, lunch or train ticket may cost more than the headline. Lucca and Bologna have a train row but no tour in this table; Venice and Montecatini have neither. Two KKday listings that start in Rome and one that starts in San Gimignano were left out because they do not leave from Florence. Prices can change after 2026-10-21.

More for an Italy trip

The same guided days from Rome are compared in day trips from Rome, and Rome tours compared by type covers the Vatican and the city walks. For a meal rather than a day out, see Rome food tours compared or the Colosseum ticket prices. To stay in the city, Florence tours compared covers the Uffizi, the Accademia, the Duomo and three walks. We price guided days the same way in the Tokyo day trips comparison and the day trips from Paris. All sources are on the sources page, and how we score and price explains the method. The same read for Scotland is day trips from Edinburgh. For mobile data on the trip, see Italy eSIM plans compared.

How we made this page

We open each Klook and KKday product page in a browser, read the price, the listed terms and the stops, and take a screenshot of each. Prices are the euro figures the pages print, so no conversion applies. We do not copy seller text, we have not joined any of these tours. Train times and fares come from one Trenitalia search for one weekday, read 2026-10-22.

Research and first drafts are AI-assisted. Every figure comes from open data listed on the page with its source and date, and a person reviews each page before it goes live.
