Four of the six markets below are open on a Sunday: Mercado da Ribeira, Mercado do Sol, Mercado do Bom Sucesso and the restaurants at Mercado Beira-Rio. Mercado do Bolhão is closed on Sundays and the Vandoma fair runs on Saturday mornings only. “Varies” means the market has more than one set of hours, which the list below spells out. Mercado do Sol changes with the season and moves between two squares during the week. Mercado Beira-Rio has different hours for its food stalls and its restaurants.
Which Porto markets are open today?
It depends on the weekday. From Monday to Wednesday four markets open: Ribeira, Bom Sucesso, Bolhão and Beira-Rio. Mercado do Sol adds a fifth on Thursday and Friday. Saturday is the only day all six open. On Sunday four open, and Beira-Rio opens only its restaurants. Find your day below.
- Monday to Wednesday: Mercado da Ribeira (09:00 to 24:00), Mercado do Bom Sucesso (08:00 to 23:00), Mercado do Bolhão (08:00 to 20:00) and Mercado Beira-Rio (stalls 07:00 to 18:00, restaurants 11:00 to 22:00).
- Thursday: the same four, plus Mercado do Sol at Praça de Carlos Alberto, 10:00 to 18:00 from October to March and 10:00 to 20:00 from April to September.
- Friday: as Thursday, but Bom Sucesso stays open until 24:00.

Four of the six open on a Sunday. Mercado da Ribeira runs 09:00 to 24:00 and Mercado do Bom Sucesso 08:00 to 23:00. Mercado do Sol opens at 10:00 on Praça Parada Leitão. At Mercado Beira-Rio only the restaurants open, 11:00 to 22:00. Mercado do Bolhão and the Vandoma fair are closed.
For an early Sunday start, Bom Sucesso opens first, at 08:00. Its shops wait until 10:00 and its restaurants until 11:00.
Which markets are open at the weekend?
All six open on Saturday, but three close early. The Vandoma fair runs 08:00 to 13:00 only. Mercado do Bolhão and the Beira-Rio food stalls close at 18:00. Ribeira and Bom Sucesso stay open until 24:00 on Saturday. Plan Bolhão and Vandoma for Saturday: neither opens on Sunday.
Is there a flea market in Porto on Sunday?
None of the six markets we checked is a Sunday flea market. Feira da Vandoma, mapped in OpenStreetMap as an antiques and second-hand fair, runs on Saturday only, 08:00 to 13:00, at the Feiródromo on Rua Estação de Contumil. OpenStreetMap still shows the third Saturday of the month, but the council page says every Saturday.
Are Porto markets open on public holidays?
Only Mercado do Bolhão says so on its page: it is closed on Sundays and holidays. The other five pages we read gave no holiday hours, so we print none. Before a holiday visit, open the market’s own page from the list above on the day you go.

Volunteers write the hours in OpenStreetMap, and they go stale. Four of the six markets differ from their own pages.
Where it differs
- Feira da Vandoma: the market’s page says every Saturday from 08:00 to 13:00 at the Feiródromo, Rua Estação de Contumil. OpenStreetMap shows the third Saturday of the month until 18:00.
- Mercado do Bolhão: the market’s page says Saturday closes at 18:00. OpenStreetMap says 20:00. The market’s page also says it is closed on Sundays and holidays.
- Mercado do Sol: OpenStreetMap has one all-year schedule and one place. The council page has two squares and two sets of hours by season.
- Mercado Beira-Rio: OpenStreetMap merges the stalls and the restaurants into one schedule from 07:00 to 22:00.

Limits of this page. OpenStreetMap maps three more markets with a council link, but that link now says the content no longer exists. We print no hours for Feira de Numismática, Feira de Artesanato da Batalha and Mercadinho da Ribeira. We did not check markets mapped without a web page.
The council site served an invalid security certificate on the day, and we read its public pages anyway. Holiday hours are not covered.
