Pompeii Tickets: Official EUR 20 vs Klook and KKday Prices

The park lists Pompeii Express at EUR 20 and Pompeii+ at EUR 25. Klook charges EUR 33 for one entry and EUR 30.25 with a guide. Prices read 2026-10-27.

Short answer: the Archaeological Park of Pompeii lists EUR 20 for Pompeii Express, the ancient city only, and EUR 25 for Pompeii+, which adds the suburban villas. Entry is free for under-18s booked with a paid ticket, and for everyone on the first Sunday of the month. For one ticket without the villas, Klook charged EUR 33 for entry with an app, and from EUR 30.25 for an English guided tour with the ticket. Rule: buy the official ticket for entry alone, and pay a reseller only when the extra buys a guide you want.

Prices read on 2026-10-27: the park’s ticket page and shop with screenshots, and the saved text of 13 Klook and KKday product pages. Ten of them are compared below; the other three were a Capri add-on, a tour from Rome and an augmented-reality walk.

The lowest reseller price that includes both a ticket and a live guide is the Klook English tour, from EUR 30.25. That is EUR 10.25 more than the Express ticket alone.

What does the park charge for each ticket?

Pompeii Express costs EUR 20 and covers the ancient city only. Pompeii+ costs EUR 25 and adds the Villa of the Mysteries, the Villa of Diomedes and Villa Regina in Boscoreale, with the shuttle. The 3 days ticket costs EUR 30 and adds Oplontis and the Stabiae sites. EU citizens aged 18 to under 25 pay EUR 2.

Express or Pompeii+?

The villas route cannot be bought on its own. An Express holder can add it for EUR 8 at the Herculaneum Gate, card payment only, which makes EUR 28 for the villas route. Pompeii+ costs EUR 25 for the same visit. So pay the extra EUR 5 for Pompeii+ up front if you want the Villa of the Mysteries; Express does not include it.

Under-18s enter free, as the official shop says on its Pompeii+ page, with up to 4 free tickets per paid or reduced ticket in the same order. The park lets everyone in free on the first Sunday of every month. The reduced price for ages 18 to under 25 applies to EU citizens, plus some residence-permit holders in Italy.

Where to buy the official ticket

  • Online: the park’s own shop, pompeii.vivaticket.it. The park says advance buyers get a PDF ticket and walk straight to the turnstiles.
  • On the day: the ticket offices inside the site, at Porta Marina, Piazza Anfiteatro and Piazza Esedra.

How much more do resellers ask for entry?

For one ticket without the villas, reseller entry cost EUR 13 to EUR 25 more than the park’s EUR 20 Express on 2026-10-27. KKday sold entry at EUR 26, EUR 6 above Express, but only in orders of at least 5 tickets. The cards and the table show what each markup buys. Two KKday entry pages exclude the Villa of the Mysteries in writing.

The audio guide on the KKday skip-the-line page comes in 7 languages. The page also says the order cannot be cancelled, changed or refunded, so it is the riskiest of the entry options above if your dates may move.

What does a guide add to the price?

A guide costs less than the entry markups suggest. Klook sold an English guided tour with the ticket from EUR 30.25, only EUR 10.25 above Express. KKday sold a 2 h guide without a ticket for EUR 20.06, which makes EUR 40.06 with the official Express. We compared prices and terms only, not how good any guide is.

On the Klook page the prices for up to 30 and up to 16 people sat next to retail prices of EUR 42 and EUR 69, so they may be sale prices. Check them on the date you pick. The KKday city tour page shows a headline price from EUR 34.09; its English walking tour printed EUR 35.09.

Coming from Naples, Salerno or Rome?

Three options add transport or a second site. KKday’s Pompeii and Vesuvius tour from EUR 99 starts at the Pompeii gate and includes an Express ticket. Klook’s join-in tour from Naples costs EUR 170.20 in its group-of-40 option and adds Herculaneum and a guide. KKday’s bus from Salerno, from EUR 79.21, includes an Express ticket and an audio guide. We did not read train fares, so going on your own is not priced here.

The tour’s title says tickets are included, and its page names a Vesuvius entry ticket of EUR 11.68 per adult. It does not say whether the tour price covers that ticket, so ask the seller before you book.

Which website is the official one?

The park’s own site is pompeiisites.org, and its own online shop is pompeii.vivaticket.it. In our saved check of Google’s US English results for “pompeii tickets” on 2026-10-27, neither appeared in the first ten. The second and fifth results were third-party sites with “Pompeii” and “tickets” in the address. The physical ticket offices are only inside the site.

  • Official price list: the park’s timetables and tickets page.
  • Official shop: pompeii.vivaticket.it, linked from the park’s own site.
  • Resellers: none of the 13 Klook and KKday pages we read called itself official. Two KKday pages, the skip-the-line ticket and the audio-guide entry, send you to a local office first, so read the pick-up line on each card.

Do you need your name, ID or a time slot?

Yes to the name. Since 15 November 2024 every Pompeii ticket carries the visitor’s name, online and at the desk, and the desk asks for ID or a passport. The park caps entry at 20,000 a day. From 16 March to 14 October it also splits the day into a morning and an afternoon slot.

  • Name on the ticket: all ticket types, online and at the ticket offices.
  • Daily limit: 20,000 entries.
  • Morning slot, 16 March to 14 October: 9.00 to 13.00, up to 15,000 entries, according to the park’s ticket page.
  • Afternoon slot, 16 March to 14 October: 13.00 to 17.30, up to 5,000 entries, according to the same page.
  • Free day: the first Sunday of every month.
  • Under 18: free, booked together with a paid or reduced ticket.

Three KKday pages say every visitor needs ID: the two skip-the-line pages above and an augmented-reality walking tour we did not compare. That last page also asks for each visitor’s full name at booking.

What are the Pompeii opening hours?

In winter, from 15 October to 15 March, Pompeii opens at 9.00, last entry is 15.30 and it closes at 17.00. In summer, from 16 March to 14 October, last entry is 17.30 and it closes at 19.00. The site is closed on 25 December and 1 January, unless the park announces otherwise. These hours come from the park’s page, read on 2026-10-27.

According to the Klook product page read on 2026-10-27, a visit takes 3 to 4 hours. In winter the site closes at 17.00, so arrive by 13.00 to get 4 hours inside.

  • The official shop shows a date calendar before checkout. We did not go to checkout, so any booking fee is not read.

  • We did not test any skip-the-line claim or measure queues. Prices change by date; each one is a “from” price read on 2026-10-27.
